The devastating mid 19thcentury Irish Famine is the dedicated story of these museums.
Dartfield Horse Museum and Park – Loughren, Co Galway
Man’s 5000 year relationship with the horse is the reason for this museum. It incorporates all aspects of horsemanship including saddlery, farming, harness, etc to present day. There are live exhibits plus and art gallery and library.
Ulster American Folk Park – Omagh, County Tyrone
An interesting outdoor museum which tells the story of emigration from Ulster to America around 17thand 18thCenturies. They have craft demonstrations, character guides and special events during the year.
The Kennedy Homestead – New Ross, County Wexford
Famous as the birthplace of President John F Kennedy’s great- grandfather Patrick Kennedy. After five generations at the Homestead the property is still being farmed.
